#CodeStudio: Building skills for the digital future. The future is unmistakingly digital. Presently, “12% of all job openings and 17% of all new wages are in computing fields” (www.code.org). Around the world, students from elementary school to the Ph.D. level are increasingly getting acquainted with the basics of coding. From Singapore to Britain, governments, educators and advocates from the tech industry argue that it has become crucial to hold at least a basic understanding of how the devices that play such a large role in modern life actually work.
Coding (creative computing) is the future. Coding helps kids develop academic skills, build qualities like perseverance and organization, and gain valuable 21st century skills that can even translate into a career.
